Administration and sale of risqué investment sees private equity firm realise losses that gained pace in recent months

3i Group lost about £45 million on its investment in Agent Provocateur, the UK retailer that has just been bought out of administration, according to people close to the situation.

The listed private equity firm originally invested slightly more than £40 million in the company in 2007, before putting in another £4 million in November 2016.
