3i sells two companies from struggling technology portfolio

3i has sold two technology companies from its battered early-stage portfolio, which has suffered a series of write-downs in recent months.

3i sold SPC International, an IT services business, in a Ā£6.1m (€8.9m) secondary buy-out from Beringea, the UK private equity firm formerly known as ProVen Private Equity. 3i had backed the company since 1998.
