3i, the UK-based venture capitalist, said it intends to expand its activities internationally.

The company has set itself a target of increasing its investment in continental Europe to at least 30% of the total portfolio by 2006, and increasing the US and Asia Pacific portfolios to at least 10% and 5% respectively.
