Seven in 10 City workers don’t want to take public transport to work over virus fears

The research demonstrates the clear desire for people both in the City and finance teams not to return to their pre-Covid working environments, regardless of the calls from business leaders

The majority of City staff do not want to commute to work on public transport as firms start to move forward with their plans to get employees back at their desks.

A report from Theta Financial Reporting, which canvassed 2,000 UK adults, found that seven in 10 London employees are uncomfortable with jumping on a tube, train or bus. These employees also said commuting on public transport would be one of the most stressful parts of their day. More than a third of workers also fear that their mental health and productivity will be impaired if they return to a traditional office set up, the survey found.
