Sadeq Sayeed, chief negotiator of Nomura's deal to buy Lehman Brothers' European operations last week, has been appointed as the new chief executive of this business, overseeing the combined operation of Nomura and Lehman Brothers.

Sayeed joined Nomura International in 2000 as Member of the firm’s Management Committee and is now executive vice-chairman of Nomura International and chief executive of acquired businesses.
