A no-deal Brexit would bring ‘some turbulence’, admits Gove

Michael Gove made the comments on 19 October to the House of Commons as talks between the two sides collapsed

The UK should get ready to exit the Brexit transition period at the end of this year with no trade deal in place; an outcome that could lead to “some turbulence”, according to senior minister Michael Gove.

Speaking to MPs on 19 October, Gove said: “We’ve been clear since the summer that we set 15 October as a target date for reaching an agreement”. He added that he had hoped to “conclude a Canada-style agreement before the transition period ends on 31 December” but that this was not going to happen “as things stand”.
