Daniel Hodson made his name in the City of London during the 1990s as the chief executive of Europe’s biggest futures exchange. Today, he wants to get the City out of Europe.

"My vision is about building on the traditions of the past," the retired British banker says, sipping red wine in a Gothic hall in the City hung with tapestries of jousting knights and an oil canvas of a coronation dinner for Queen Elizabeth II.
