A third of bank staff may stay working from home, says UBS COO

UBS chief operating officer Sabine Keller-Busse adds that workers may want to travel less in a post-coronavirus world

A third of the banking sector’s workforce may not go back to the office, the group chief operating officer of Swiss bank UBS said, as businesses around the world adapt to the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It could well be [that] perhaps a third could work from home, if I’m looking at how our people are spread... it is too early to do the exact maths, but it would be significant,” Sabine Keller-Busse said, speaking at Bloomberg’s Invest Global webinar series.
