Abacus, the financial services group, has appointed Mark Hassett as a client services director in the financial consulting team. He will focus on investment advice to clients worth over €10m ($12m) and report to Christine Whitfield.

Hassett left SG Hambros, a private bank which specialises in wealth management services, in April this year after nine months. SG Hambros said he had been joint head of UK private banking.
