Abbey National fills gap left by new hedge fund

Abbey National Asset Management has dedicated seven fund managers to its three new hedge funds, and is trying to fill the gaps by a combination of new hires and rearranged responsibilities.

The firm announced in January that it was going into hedge funds. The new hedge fund business is being run by seven fund managers, led by Scott Jamieson, Adrian Cunningham and Clare Bowman, three administrators and a chief of operations. They have been given autonomy by being placed in a new Abbey National subsidiary, Talorcan, and have left their former roles in long-only management behind.
