Aberdeen eyes post-Swip infra growth

The asset manager's deal to acquire Scottish Widows Investment Partnership included its infrastructure business, a new asset class for Aberdeen

Aberdeen Asset Management's deal to acquire Scottish Widows Investment Partnership last week gave Martin Gilbert's fund manager a new asset class: infrastructure.

Swip's 28-strong team is led by infrastructure director Gershon Cohen, who was previously global head of project finance at Lloyds Bank. The unit manages about £1 billion in assets. Prior to Lloyds, Cohen worked as head of infrastructure finance at the Bank of Scotland.
