Corporate governance advisers ISS and Pirc have recommended shareholders vote against the re-election of Sports Direct chairman Keith Hellawell later this week.

Aberdeen Asset Management, which was among the 53% of independent shareholders in Sports Direct that voted against Hellawell in September, has also confirmed it will again oppose his re-election at the general shareholder meeting on January 5.
