Aberdeen Standard wins $500m fund tie-up with Asia infrastructure bank

The UK fund manager is also joining the bank’s programme to drive up corporate and environmental standards in Asia

UK fund manager Aberdeen Standard Investments has won a brief to manage $500m of bonds for the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, which the company said will kick-start a strategic partnership between the two organisations.

The bank, set up in 2015 and headquartered in Beijing, is a Chinese-led alternative to the World Bank. It lends money to social and infrastructure projects in the region and seeks to “catalyse” similar lending from private sources.
