Aberdeen's third split cap trust goes bust

Aberdeen Asset Management 's third trust in the UK's scandal-hit split capital sector has appointed liquidators, with shareholders likely to receive little or nothing from the wreckage.

Shares in Leveraged Income, run by Martin Gilbert's Aberdeen, were suspended some weeks ago. In the last few weeks Aberdeen High Income and Media & Income, two other split cap trusts run by Aberdeen, have all gone under. All three suffered from high gearing allied to a policy of cross investing in other split cap trusts.
