ABN Amro and Goldman cleared in World Online case

ABN Amro Rothschild and Goldman Sachs will not face criminal prosecution for their role in the disastrous flotation of World Online, the Dutch internet service provider, in March 2000.

The Amsterdam public prosecutor's office had been investigating claims that the two banks managing World Online's initial public offering misused privileged information and published a misleading prospectus.
