ABN Amro has appointed Greg Major as global head of its financial markets advisory group, which was established after the Dutch bank integrated its debt businesses to form a single financial markets group in February.

The financial markets advisory team will focus on giving ABN Amro's clients advice on issues including debt funding, balance sheet optimisation, capital structure, solvency and regulation, risk and value management, portfolio optimisation, transaction structuring and restructuring, and the effects of financing on companies' credit ratings.
