ABN Amro Capital wins largest deal with Italian purchase

ABN Amro Capital, the financial sponsor arm of the Dutch bank, has done its largest deal in acquiring Global Garden Products, the Italian lawnmowers business, for €555m ($654m).

The financial sponsor has made sizeable investments before, including the purchase of De Dietrich, a French manufacturing company valued at $430m, three years ago. Paul Southwell, a member of the ABN Amro Capital deal team, said the GGP deal - bought from UBS Private Equity - is the firm's largest to date.
