ABN Amro sets up new private banks support unit

ABN Amro has hired Ariel Salama as global head of private banks to run a new team offering investment portfolio support to institutions in private banking and wealth management.

Salama was previously chief investment officer at the Republic National Bank of New York Private Bank (RNBNYPB), where he managed more than $50bn (€42.6bn) of wholesale assets and $12bn of private banking assets.
