ABN Amro is set to strip out around 2,500 jobs as the Dutch lender overhauls its business to prepare for the digital age and set itself up for the challenges presented by low interest rates and the fall out from the Covid-19 crisis.

The Dutch lender said it would cut around 15% of jobs over the next few years as part of a broader plan to "future proof" the bank and focus on its core markets.
