ABN cashes in on sudoku craze

ABN Amro Capital, the buy-out arm of the Dutch bank, has made a return of almost five times its investment in Puzzler Media Group, sold to publisher John Leng & Co in a transaction worth £85m (€125m).

ABN Amro bought Puzzler in April 2002 from Finnish media group Sanoma Magazines. It publishes 53% of the UK puzzle magazine market and has enjoyed strong growth recently thanks to the boom in titles related to sudoku, the number game.
