Sarah Russell appointed CEO of asset management business

ABN Amro, the Netherlands bank, this morning signalled a retreat from its larger investment banking business with a restructuring aimed at focusing on mid-cap clients.

It will dismantle its wholesale clients business unit, which includes securities business and corporate lending, and create a new division to offer investment-banking products, including advice on mergers and acquisitions and debt and equity underwriting.
