The chair of Abrdn, the FTSE 250-listed asset manager, has defended its controversial rebranding to shareholders, weeks after its chief investment officer accused the media of “corporate bullying” over its name change.
Responding to a shareholder question at the asset manager’s annual general meeting in Edinburgh on 24 April, Sir Douglas Flint said the firm was “proud of the brand” after changing from Standard Life Aberdeen to Abrdn in April 2021.
