Actuaries call for greater transparency

Peter Tompkins, chairman of the pensions board at the Institute of Actuaries, is calling for the UK government to require pension funds to publish annual statements of solvency.

He believes that this will help protect employees' pensions if their companies go bankrupt with underfunded pension schemes.
