Adair Turner drops Schroders for Merrill

Adair Turner, former director general of the Confederation of British Industry, has spurned a key role at Schroders in favour of Merrill Lynch.

Instead of joining Schroders as vice-chairman of investment banking in October, following the completion of his book on economics, Turner will take up the job of European vice-president at Merrill.
