Private equity fund manager Adams Street Partners is in talks to raise its first-ever energy-focused fund of funds, following a surge in investor interest in the sector amid rising global demand for energy.
The Chicago-based firm is planning to launch a new vehicle which will follow primary, secondary and co-investment strategies in the energy and natural resources sectors. Targeted areas will include oil and gas exploration and production, energy services, mining and minerals and energy infrastructure, according to two investors familiar with the situation.
