The local MP for Kweku Adoboli, the former UBS trader jailed in 2012 for causing a $2.3bn loss to the Swiss bank, has reissued a letter to Theresa May urging the Prime Minister not to deport the 38-year-old.
Adoboli expected he would be detained by Border Force officers on Monday as he attended a monthly check-in with police in West Lothian. The Ghanaian national, however, was allowed to leave after Hannah Bardell, the MP for Livingston, where Adoboli lives, sent a request to the Home Secretary urging that he not be held.
