Aegon on watch after head quits

Investment consultants are putting Aegon Asset Management under review after the resignation of Mark Zinkula, head of fixed income in the US and UK. Zinkula is credited with the integration of Aegon's fixed income teams in the Hague, London and Iowa. The head of bond research at a London manager of managers described his departure as "a blow".

Zinkula is returning to academic life, taking a post at Cornell College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, near Aegon's US operations where he was based. Zinkula is a specialist in mortgage-backed securities, emerging market debt and collateralised debt obligations.
