The world's hedge fund industry has created an estimated 300,000 jobs, two-thirds of which were generated among service providers like administrators, lawyers and accountants, a hedge fund industry association in London said.

The survey, the first employment estimate conducted by the Alternative Investment Management Association, said about 80% of the jobs are in North America, over 16% in Europe and the remainder in Asia-Pacific.
