John Ainsworth, chief executive officer of Old Mutual Asset Managers UK, the specialist investment boutique, is stepping down after four and a half years in the top job.

Ainsworth will be replaced by Peter Baxter, deputy chief executive at Old Mutual Asset Managers, who joined the company along with Ainsworth in September 2000.
