Airbus, the European aerospace giant, is close to appointing a chief executive to lead a new derivatives exchange that will allow airlines to hedge against future revenue shocks.

Financial News reported on Monday that Airbus has set up a subsidiary called Skytra, which will list futures and options contracts based on indices designed to represent airline revenues.
