Generation Investment Management, the $17bn firm founded by former US vice-president Al Gore and ex-Goldman Sachs Asset Management boss David Blood, is to refocus on equities seven years after expanding into credit.

Generation's decision casts doubt on the future of Mike Ramsay, a leveraged finance veteran who led the sustainable investor's move into credit in 2010.
