One of the last remaining senior executives at Barclays Ventures, the venture capital division of Barclays Bank, is to leave the firm before the end of the year, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Alex Brebbia - a 10 year veteran at Barclays Ventures - will leave in the next month as the bank continues to wind down its captive venture capital division, one person familiar with the matter said. Brebbia, who joined the group from UK buyout firm 3i Group in 2003, will not be replaced at Barclays, the person added.
