Allen & Overy, the UK-based international law firm, has hired Glenda Davies from rival law firm Norton Rose as part of the firm's expansion of its UK financial regulatory capability.

Davies' arrival at A&O is timely as it coincides with the regulatory powers being assumed by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), the new UK financial services watchdog. She will be involved in regulatory matters ranging from financial institutions' mergers and acquisitions to group restructurings and regulatory capital issues.
