Alliance & Leicester is set for a series of changes at board level, appointing three new directors and a new deputy chairman.

Peter McNamara has been appointed group managing director and will start in early June. He joins from Lloyds TSB Group where he has worked for 26 years, most recently as managing director for personal banking.
