AllianceBernstein, the US investment management and broking group, has moved to buy Autonomous Research, one of the most prominent stock analysis firms in the City of London.

The US group, which owns the Sanford C. Bernstein broking business, said in a November 20 statement that it has made an offer to acquire all the partnership interests and shares of Autonomous.
