Amanda Staveley’s role in Barclays’ fundraising described as a ‘hustle’ by bank’s lawyer

Staveley decided to sue Barclays because she thought that the bank 'would want to settle', Barclays QC suggested in the High Court

Amanda Staveley took stinging criticism in the final hours of her High Court testimony for her “patchy” recollection of events and was accused of a role that amounted to a “hustle” during Barclay’s 2008 emergency fundraising.

The withering remarks from Jeffrey Onions QC came on the sixth day of Staveley being on the stand in the £1.5bn case.
