'Ambitious' LSE chief targets post-trade growth

The London Stock Exchange will embark on an aggressive drive to reclaim market share in its core UK equities business that will comprise a push into post-trade services and derivatives, according to its new chief executive, who today faced analysts in London for the first time.

Xavier Rolet, the former Lehman Brothers executive who joined the LSE in May, said the exchange will adapt units acquired through its purchase of Borsa Italiana two years ago to the UK equities market in order to tap "significant potential for growth".
