American Century Investments, an investment manager with $96.5bn (€80.5bn) in assets, has appointed Jonathan Thomas as executive vice-president. He was previously chief operating officer for Morgan Stanley's asset management division.

Thomas will start on November 7 and will report to William Lyons, president and chief executive.
