Ameritrade, the online broker, has promoted assistant treasurer Michael Chochon to treasurer. His promotion comes as the broker prepares to integrate TD Waterhouse, a rival it bought in June, which has significantly expanded the treasury role.

He succeeds Randy MacDonald, who remains Ameritrade's chief financial officer and chief administrative officer.
