AMG snaps up stake in private equity firm Comvest

Consolidator’s latest deal comes amid a busy couple of days for mergers and acquisitions in the asset management industry

Affiliated Managers Group, which acquires stakes in fund managers, has made a new investment in US private equity firm Comvest Partners — just two weeks after its chief executive said he wanted to do more deals in 2020.

AMG, which did not disclose the size of its stake in Comvest nor the amount it paid, said the deal would increase its exposure to the “highly attractive” areas of private equity and private debt. Comvest invests in and lends to primarily middle-market companies in North America.
