Amplifon, the Italian hearing aid distributor, has become the first IPO in Italy this year to rise on its first day of trading, giving the new issue market a small but welcome boost.

This week three IPOs in Europe have priced below their bookbuilding ranges. Most IPOs in the past month have slashed their price ranges and many are trading below and already depressed issue price.
