Amundi plans push into direct investments

French asset management giant Amundi, among the world’s largest with €1.4tn of assets under management, is seeking to raise more cash for its direct investment arm as it moves to boost its resources to compete for companies against private equity firms.

At present, Amundi has a relatively small portfolio of direct investments. The private equity team has about €7bn under management with €1.2bn consisting of direct investments and the rest going to other funds.
