Amvescap taps Janus for new CFO

Amvescap, the Anglo-US fund manager, has hired Loren Starr from US rival Janus Capital Group as chief financial officer. He replaces James Robertson, who has stepped down from the role but retains a position as executive vice-president and a member of the board.

Robertson was one of three internal candidates being considered to take over from Charles Brady, who left as chief executive in February but remains as chairman.
