Q&A with Moscow deputy mayor: Andrei Sharonov

Financial News talks to the investment banker-turned-politician about efforts to make Moscow a more attractive destination for entrepreneurs, investors and expats

Andrei Sharonov, the deputy mayor of Moscow for economic policy and a former investment banker, is charged with helping Moscow meet its target of becoming a major financial centre.

Sharanov has long traversed government and finance, serving for a period as State Secretary and Deputy Minister at the Economic Development and Trade Ministry and later heading investment banking at Russian investment bank Troika Dialog. In December 2010, he took the role of deputy mayor of Moscow, charged with helping the city attract international business.
