The inquiry into how former Prime Minister David Cameron lobbied the government over Greensill Capital must reveal what Chancellor Rishi Sunak pushed his team to do after phone texts with Cameron, Shadow Chancellor Anneliese Dodds has said.

Dodds raised questions about the communications between Sunak and Cameron, who was reported to have lobbied the government to increase Greensill Capital’s access to state-backed emergency Covid-19 loan schemes. Greensill specialised in supply chain finance, a form of short-term corporate lending, but filed for bankruptcy in March after it lost credit insurance that was crucial to its business.
