Annuity sales practices must improve warns FCA

The news follows the Financial Conduct Authority’s retirement income market study

Insurers and specialist annuity providers have been told that they need to improve their sales practices to better enable consumers to get the best deal in retirement, according to the Financial Conduct Authority’s retirement income market study, published Thursday.

Among the findings, the report found evidence to suggest that the sales practices of those companies that sell annuities are actively leading consumers to choose the wrong product for their later life needs.
