Jean-Paul Ansel, the high-profile banker who joined Commerzbank less than a year ago, has quit the German bank.

Commerzbank hired Ansel as head of French origination for equity capital markets (ECM) and mergers and acquisitions (M&A), as part of its drive to build up a business outside Germany.
