Anthony Scaramucci’s SkyBridge Capital files for bitcoin fund launch

Cryptocurrency fund will require accredited investors to deposit a minimum of $50,000

A multibillion-dollar hedge fund run by President Donald Trump's former director of communications has filed with the US regulator to launch a bitcoin fund.

New York-based SkyBridge Capital, which manages more than $9bn (£6.7bn), was set up by Anthony Scaramucci in 2005. On 21 December it filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to establish a bitcoin fund, which will require accredited investors to deposit a minimum of $50,000.
