Staff at audit watchdog the Financial Reporting Council are underpaid, anxious and fearful of challenging the behaviour of their superiors, according to the results of an internal survey.

Only 53% of the more than 340 staff surveyed said they feel comfortable speaking to people senior to them about the impact of their actions and behaviour, according to data from the FRC’s 2023 staff survey obtained by Financial News through a Freedom of Information Act request.
