Aon on Wednesday said it is no longer pursuing a possible business combination with insurance broker Willis Towers Watson.

Aon said it had been at a very early stage in considering an all-stock deal with Willis Towers, but that Irish regulations forced it to disclose the matter when media reports of a possible deal surfaced.
